The manufacturer is experiencing a shortage of the Mazda-specific harnesses required for this kit, and they are unable to give us an estimate as to when they will be available again. As such, this product has been marked unavailable and will remain as such until more harnesses are available. Please consider the XCarLink as an alternative.
The XIA-I01 interface is designed to allow the user to play an iPod, XM satellite radio, or auxiliary audio through a vehicle’s factory audio system. Any two of the three audio inputs can be used.
This kit includes the XIA-I01 as well as the XIAH-MZ1 harness necessary to connect the unit to the Mazda factory radio. It uses the TAPE/MD expansion port on the bottom of the head unit.
Auxiliary input options:
- XIAH-RCA - Provides two RCA-style jacks for direct auxiliary input.
- XIAH-IPC - Provides complete iPod integration, allowing the selection of multiple playlists and including text display on your vehicle's LCD. Compatible with any iPod with a dock connector on the bottom, including iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod classic, iPod touch and iPhone. Currently will not charge iPhone 3G or any iPod purchased after September 9, 2008.
- XIAH-XMC - Wiring harness that provides fully integrated XM satellite radio, including text display via the Terk XMD1000 tuner. However, this tuner is not included and has been discontinued by the manufacturer. It is rumored that the Axxess will be updated to be compatible with a different tuner at some time in the future.

- Push the TEXT button again to view the second line.

Axxess Installation:
Installation is easy, but does require removal of your vehicle's head unit from the center console. Once the head unit is removed, the Axxess simply plugs into the TAPE/MD expansion port, located on the bottom of the head unit. The Axxess wiring can then be routed to your glove box, down the center console to the cupholders, or wherever would be most convenient for you.
The kit includes the Axxess control unit, the modular connectors of your choice, and usage instructions.
NOTE for 2006-2008 Mazda 3 and 2007-2008 Mazdaspeed 3: The Axxess is currently not compatible with head units manufactured by Clarion. You can determine the manufacturer of your head unit by examining the white sticker on top, once the head unit has been pulled out. Additionally, 2008 models may not have the TAPE/MD port on the bottom of the head unit. Please verify the presence of this port before purchasing.
NOTE for vehicles with factory-installed tape deck or MD player: The Axxess unit is not compatible with either of these devices. Both this unit and the factory TAPE/MD unit connect to the head unit using the same port, so only one or the other may be used at any given time.
